Howdy! I'm Crystal Leatherman, born and raised in Tulia, TX. I'm a lover of Christ, people, and animals. I'm the eldest of 2 and a homeschool graduate. After finishing high school I went into the AIM (missions) program in Lubbock, and was sent to Northern Ireland. While I was there I began to work with special needs children at the Coleraine RDA (Riding for Disabilities). I spent some time caring for the elderly in their homes before becoming a dog trainer. Now I love being able to teach dogs and their humans.
Shelly is a wife and mother of 3 kids and 3 amazing furry family members. They have established their home just outside of the Amarillo/Canyon area. She graduated from West Texas A&M University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Biology. She has had many wonderful jobs in the past including: secretary, event coordinator, magazine publisher, HS biology teacher, but now has been afforded the opportunity to return to her first love…..DOGS! Her primary goal in training both the dogs and their families is to help find an understanding and balance between the two through obedience and structure. This will, in fact, open up a world of freedom and fun for the whole family pack. She keeps the trainings fun, informative, and goal oriented. There is nothing more satisfying to her than being able to walk in her calling and she would absolutely love the opportunity to work with you and yours!
Aaron specializes in family dynamics that include puppy integration into the family. He has always had a fascination with dogs, enjoys learning about different breeds, and has a special bond with Rhodesian Ridgebacks. His wife has always half joked that one day Aaron will be heading up a search and rescue operation with his dogs- and while that could still happen- he is content with raising his three boys and training dogs to be their very best. Cutting his teeth by working with dogs in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, he is now happy to be home in the panhandle of Texas. He and his wife met at Texas Tech, and shortly after graduation moved off to the Sacramento Mountains followed by the Rockies. It was in these two locations that he found a love for teaching, and as a result, now finds fulfillment in leading others in how to work with their own dogs. In every encounter he strives to take the stress out of owning a dog and wants to see each one compliment the family to whom they belong. He knows firsthand how a dog can add value to the family dynamic and would love to work with you to have the same experience.
